2013 has seen a significant increase in media attention on medicinal cannabis. Reports from CNN, ABC, CBS and other local publications have reported that high-cannabidiol cannabis oil is effective in controlling rare epileptic conditions such as Doose syndrome, Dravet syndrome, infantile spasms and cortical dysplasia. These diseases can cause hundreds to thousands of seizures a week, while also impairing development in a number of other ways. It is a daunting task for parents of children with these conditions. Due to the complexity of Dravet or related syndromes, traditional medications are ineffective and often make matters worse. Families are turning to high-CBD cannabis oil as a last resort. It has shown remarkable efficacy and is providing hope for many families.
High-CBD cannabis extract is not psychoactive and appears to be more beneficial than high levels of THC. Cannabidiol can be found in cannabis plants as well as the more popular psychoactive THC. There is significant research showing neuroprotective and anticancer properties. Furthermore, cannabis oil is a type of extract from cannabis. This oil is a concentrated form of cannabinoids and can be taken orally.
Research suggests CBD may have panacea-like qualities. This is what the practice shows. On August 11th, 2013, Sanjay Gupta released a documentary on CNN about Charlotte Figi. Charlotte is a Dravet patient, who had 300 grand mal seizures every week. These seizures were so severe that no medication or diet changes could be made to lower them. Charlotte’s seizures stopped immediately after Charlotte was introduced to high-CBD marijuana oil by her parents. Charlotte now has fewer than three minor seizures per month. This case is remarkable and not unusual. Dr. Margaret Gedde, Colorado Springs physician is tracking 11 new Stanely brother patients, who are the providers of Charlotte’s high-CBD medicines. 9 of them have had 90-100% reductions in seizures, which again, is simply miraculous.
CBD is effective against complex epileptic disorders. No other pharmaceuticals, even those with the best research, have been able to induce any healing. High-CBD cannabis oils can be used to reduce epileptic symptoms.
It is not surprising that these results have been documented for many years. Just like research shows cannabinoids are therapeutically effective against epilepsy, there is research suggesting they can eliminate cancers and control other serious diseases. The results for epilepsy, and other conditions, are being translated to the human body. Since years, people have successfully eliminated cancers and helped with other conditions such as diabetes and fibromyalgia. This is serious and needs to be addressed more.
